Melissa Thompson, PhD joined Success Labs in 2021 as a consultant and coach with experience in interpersonal communication, public speaking, and leadership & organizational development. She works with individuals and companies to build better leaders, better teams, and better organizations.
Previously, she served as the Director of Talent Development at the Baton Rouge Area Chamber. Former roles also include working for the LSU Communication across the Curriculum (CxC) Program and as an organizer and speaker coach for TEDxLSU from its inception in 2013 to 2020. Melissa currently serves as an organizer and speaker coach for TEDxBatonRouge and is an adjunct faculty member in the LSU E.J. Ourso College of Business. She received her bachelor’s degree in communication studies from LSU and her master’s and doctorate in communication theory from the University of Memphis.
Originally from Searcy, Arkansas, Melissa has called Baton Rouge home since 2012. She enjoys spending time with family on Lake Bruin. She is a board member for the Louisiana Art & Science Museum, a founding member of the Echo Alliance supporting Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, a sustaining member of the Junior League of Baton Rouge, and serves in local and national volunteer roles for Delta Gamma.
