Define Values

Spend time capturing the values that drive your team and organization and help drive success. Ensure that personal, team, and organizational behavior and decisions are consistent and aligned with the core values.

Create Mission & Vision Statement

Create or revisit a vision or mission statement for your team. It should be simple, compelling, and capable of inspiring and focusing the team around a common mindset. For example: Mission: Feeding the Hungry. Vision: A World without Hunger.

Share the Vision

Incorporate sharing your vision into your daily work and organizational activities. A few examples: reference the vision during team and project meetings, share in a newsletter, or make visible with posters, banners, employee badges, etc.

Create Events & Traditions

Your traditions should emphasize the vision and values of your organization. Think about community-service projects, an annual team retreat, or regular celebrations of success. Communicate to your team how these events relate to the overall mission and purpose.

It's so much easier for a team to maintain positive momentum in their work if they are aligned around the core Vision & Purpose. Contact Devin today to talk more about managing vision and purpose, leadership and organizational development, and people strategy!
